It’s not every day that a woman with seven-times platinum success returns to the spotlight after years spent between motherhood and musical reinvention—but Kitchie Nadal is doing just that. Kitchie will headline a solo concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on June 21.
Titled New Ground Manila, the show is a celebration of her legacy. Known for defining an era of Original Pinoy Music (OPM) with “Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin,” Kitchie is now embracing a fresh direction: collaborations she’s never attempted, genre-bending performances, and new material shaped by her life abroad.
From her roots as the original voice of Mojofly to becoming one of the most recognizable names in the early 2000s Pinoy rock movement, Kitchie’s career has been marked by reinvention. Her 2004 solo debut topped the charts and became a cultural fixture. And yet, despite her success, she never rushed the next chapter. She raised a family. She moved to Spain. And she waited until the timing—and the music—felt right.

“I used to write songs from a very personal place,” she shared in an earlier conversation. “Now, I’m also writing from what I see in the world around me.”
New Ground is a reintroduction of herself to a new generation of fans—many of whom weren’t even around during her early hits. Though she has managed to stay relevant among younger audiences without even releasing any music of late.
While the Araneta Coliseum has hosted countless OPM legends, this is the first time Kitchie will take the stage there solo.
“It’s my first time headlining at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, so I’m really thrilled! I’m super thankful to everyone who made this happen, and of course to all the people who’ve inspired us to bring this show to life,” she said.
And for longtime fans who have seen her grow through quieter years, this moment feels hard-earned. It’s less of a triumphant return and more of a quiet, confident expansion of what she has always been about – a music artist.
Whether you’ve followed her since the “Same Ground” days or discovered her recently through reunion concerts with Barbie Almalbis and Aia de Leon, this show promises something different.
